Descriptions:
President:
Head of the executive board and ensures efficient communication between the School of Chemistry and Materials Science, the faculty advisor, and the rest of the executive board. Assists other board positions and directs policy management as well as standards of practices from the chapter. |
Vice-President:
Advisor to the president on key decisions while supporting the rest of the board with management of the responsibilities each position holds. The vice-president is involved in fostering relationships between the members of the chapter and the executive board. |
Treasurer:
The treasurer is responsible for maintaining and presenting the finances of the student chapter. As the financial officer, the treasurer is in charge of fund allocation and is the chief author for grant proposals. The treasurer works closely with the event coordinator to organize chemistry events that the chapter is hosting in and around the college of science. |
Secretary:
The secretary is the direct line of communication of events and news with in the chapter. Information about the current practices and meetings that the chapter is holding are communicated by the secretary through the dedicated RIT ACS student chapter email. The secretary also maintains records of all the meetings for both evacuative board meetings and general chapter meetings. |
Event Coordinator/Social Media Manager:
Maintains the social media presence of the chapter and is in charge of recruitment of new members in the RIT chemistry community. The Event coordinator works with the treasurer to create and optimize the chapters events throughout the year. Hold communication line with the college of science and the student government for collaborative outreach programs in the local Rochester area.
